Baking & Cooking

Thai Stir Fried Tofu
I made this one for the Made It item on my other blog, but it was not at all what I expected. I love Thai food and its rich flavours, but this dish was very bland. Not over to the keepers list, this one.

Mirror Glaze Cake
Because I wasn't satisfied at all with the glaze on the cake that I made last week, I didn't another round of glaze making this week. I used another recipe and this time the glaze was really shining and mirroring, except that I overdid it. After applying two layers of glaze I wanted to add another layer, but the glaze became too think and therefore too heavy. Like an avalanche the third layer took the two other layers, so the glaze became irregular and at some places it was totally gone.
So, I'm going for a third round and hopefully it will be perfect then.

Rhubarb Strawberry Tart
My late grandmother was a great cook and one of her specialties was cooking with rhubarb. That makes there will always be a connection between rhubarb and my grandmother. Every year, when rhubarb season starts, I want to make something with this vegetable and this year it's the rhubarb strawberry tart. I made it for a garden diner that I had with some of my old school friends.

In the recipe fresh rhubarb is used, but for some reason my local supermarket doesn't sell it, so I used compote from a jar. Worked out fine.

Crafting

Embroidering Shirt
Actually I was looking forward to this the moment I put it on the list. Unfortunately I did have nothing around the house to transfer the pattern to the shirt, so I drew it by hand and that's why the dragonfly isn't entirely symmetrical, but I don't mind.

Star Deco
I made these wooden stars to brighten up the fence.
